2018-2019

Certificate of Achievement

Child Development Associate

This program provides the training required to apply for Child Development Associate (CDA) credential; an entry-level nationally recognized credential awarded by The Council for Professional Recognition. The training is based on a core set of competency standards, which guide early childhood professionals in nurturing the emotional, physical, intellectual, and social development of children from birth to 5 years of age. Upon completion of the program, students have met the eligibility requirements for the CDA credential and are ready to apply to the Council for final evaluation and validation. CDA credits can be transferred to the ECE Certificate and/or Associate Degrees.

Note:

This program requires the completion of a Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) to ensure that it is appropriate for the student to be in contact with children and participate in field experiences.

The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) requires criminal history record checks, including fingerprints, for all child care personnel, volunteers and other individuals who will have regular contact with children in a licensed child care program, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A: 6-7.1.
