Career Certificate

Fire Science Management

This Career Certificate allows students to gain employment in the fields of firefighting and fire prevention in addition to allowing both career and volunteer members of the Fire Service to advance their knowledge and skills. The credits earned in this certificate may be applied toward the Associate in Applied Science Degree in Fire Science Technology.

Upon completion of the certificate, students will be able to:

  • Explain the need for effective delegation of tasks in the fire services.
  • Describe the need for effective resource management in the fire service.
  • Explain the importance of ethical decision making in the fire service.
  • Explain the role of a company officer within the Incident Management System.
