This course focuses on the practice areas of Rehabilitation, Disability and Participation, and Productive Aging. Through class instruction, simulation, practice, and reflection on case scenarios, students learn the OT process (OT Practice Framework-III, AOTA 2014), as they assist in identifying the intervention approach and developing a plan that is guided by a practice model(s) and evidence. Students practice implementing interventions and completing documentation based on case study scenarios representative of adult practice settings. Psychosocial, cognitive, and contextual factors that affect participation for adults and older adults are emphasized throughout the course.
