OCTH 1031 - Conditions Impacting Occupation, Participation, and Health I: Adult/Older Adult

This is the first in a series of two courses in which students study bio-psychosocial conditions and learn how to analyze their potential effect on body functions and structures, skills, occupational performance and participation. Case examples guide an understanding of the natural course of aging and the impact of health conditions on the adult and older adult. The language of the OT Practice Framework and medical terminology are taught and practiced. The course lays the foundation for safe practice with adult populations by instructing students on medication side effects, monitoring vital signs, and following precautions and contraindications
