CIS 286 - Networking Security Fundamentals

This course introduces students to the basics of network security principles, including authentication methods, malicious code, and network and wireless security techniques to safeguard against intrusions on file transfer services,
email, and web applications. Students will also learn how this field relates to other areas of information technology. Students will gain network security practice using hands-on lab exercises. This course prepares students for CompTIA’s Security+ certification exam and an entry-level information security position in the IT field. 
Offered nights only in Fall and Spring.
