CH 214 - Analytical Chemistry

( 3 :5 :0 ) 5 credits

This course covers the principles of quantitative chemical anaylsis and their applications as applied to 1) chemical equilbiria, 2) potentionetry, 3) methods of separating, identifying and quantifying chemicals including chromatography and mass spectrometry, and 4) using the UV-VIS spectrophotometer for chemical analysis. The lab will involve chemical quantification of specific components in given samples, and analyses and evaluation of the data using methodologies discussed in the lecture. Statistical and graphical analysis of data, and scientific report writing will be emphasized.
