Youth Rise

Academic Readiness and Career Pathways

The Youth Rise grant program helps out-of-school Passaic County youth between the ages of 16 – 24 to obtain a high school equivalency diploma, while increasing their life skills and preparing for college and career readiness. Stipends are provided to eligible participants during their time in the program.


Please Note: Students currently enrolled in these courses will be completing the classes online.  All future enrollments will be processed upon our return to in-person classes. (updated March 26, 2020)

Monday – Friday

9:00 a.m. to 3 p.m.


Program Components

High School Diploma Equivalency Exam

  • Prepare to the HS equivalency exam
  • Focuses on Math, Reading, Writing, Science, Social Studies 
  • Student learn at their own pace


Career & Life Skills

  • Interviewing techniques
  • Resume writing
  • Navigating job search engines
  • Identifying a career interest
  • Navigating career paths
  • Identifying supports within the college
  • Financial Literacy
  • Goal Setting
  • Effective Communication


College Readiness

  • Improve basic skills
  • Assistance with navigating the college process
